Bosch Cordless Drill - Power And Versatility For All Of Your ProjectsLast month, I purchased the Bosch 36618-02 18 volt cordless drill the other day at home depot as a replacement for my older cordless drill. The first thing that I noticed is the raw power that this drill contains. At first, I must admit, I was worried that the cordless drill would not have enough power to get the job done. Well, I’m glad to say I was wrong. I found this out when I was refinishing my bathroom and running a coax cable through an exterior wall. For my bathroom project, I had to drill through 8 plus inches of solid concrete in order to run hot and cold copper supply lines for my sink, toilet and tub. This drill was able to accomplish this task and still had more battery power left over to secure the copper lines to the studs with copper clamps. To say the least, I was very impressed with my new drill. The next project I tacked a few weeks later is running a coax cable from the exterior of my house to my new office. In order to accomplish this task, I had to drill through exterior brick and then through cement block. I used my one inch masonry bit from my bathroom project and powered through the brick and cement block with no problems, this even impressed the Charter cable guy at my house doing the cable installation. In minutes, we were able to run the cable line into the office thanks to my Bosch drill. Finally, I’m impressed with the amount of time it takes to re-charge the battery. I fully depleted the battery the other day and recharged it in less than thirty minutes. This is great for projects that take a long time to complete like building a deck, which is the current project that I’m working on in my spare time. I’m using screws rather than nails for a no squeak result. A couple of things that you may not think about with this drill is that it is a ½ inch chuck rather than a 3/8 inch chuck. This is great for larger bits especially larger drill bits. The other thing is that these batteries are very compact which makes it easier to get in tight places not to mention that the drill is light weight, which is another huge advantage. I’ve searched Home Depot and Lowes over and YOU can’t beat this drill for money, performance and feature set even if you spend twice as much on other drills they won’t compare to the 36618-02 cordless drill. I’ve owned Sears, Dewalt and Porter Cable drills and none of them stack up to the Bosch cordless drill. My recommendation for you is to go out and buy one today and get started on your next home improvement project. |
